Siwomyèl (Honey)
To sing a song previously performed by Haitian Diva Carole Demesmin, one must have guts! And this is exactly what Shoomy has. As of today, I cannot choose between the original version and the new one. What I can tell you though is that in this new version, the majestic duet in the intro, which features the beautiful pianist Welmyr and the magnificent singer Shoomy, gives the song a new dimension that no one would have guessed would be possible before.

The jazzy ballad is then transformed into a soft bossa nova conducted by amazing musicians, such as jazz drum player Johnbern Thomas, Bobby Raymond on bass, Welmyr on piano, and the excellent Ferdinand Jean-Baptiste on guitar. The background vocals give Shoomy all the support needed to bring the song to the highest levels

A surprise guitar solo performed at the end by my friend Romere Jean-Louis gives the song an extra touch of Caribbean Jazz.

The lyrics written in 1985 for this song by my friend Ralph Boncy kept all their flavor:
